I think we all have different personas we put on in different circumstances.
The problem I see now days is people don't know which one to use in a given situation.
Sometimes you have to play the game and the rules of the game are often determined by the person who has what you want.
If you're looking for a job and show up in a t-shirt with some obscene image on it, ripped up jeans and smelling of stale bong water, the odds are the person doing the hiring will take a hard pass.
Is it fair? Probably not but life is seldom fair. It's also a sign of poor decision making on your part.
They're accepted now but 20 years ago if you had visible tattoos you had way fewer options available to you in the job market.

 

I think posing is bullshit. My parents were dirt poor enlisted people in the military in the fifties... base housing was one step below share croppers, rats, cockroaches... food in the commissary was simple staples or canned... and you packed your shit up every two to four years and moved to another shit hole swamp or iceberg. Educational opportunities were quite simply non-existent because you couldn't save from what an enlisted man's family made with a wife and X number of kids. If your grades were off the charts and you or you parents had your nose up some congressman's ass, you might in one out of a thousand cases get an appointment to a military academy where you could perpetuate what you parents, usually your father did for 20-30 years. When your opportunities are narrowed by your circumstances, your vision of the future gets real fucking focused awful fast. The military does not encourage entrepreneurial thinking among the ranks, families or dependents, there is no I in squad , patrol or platoon. Families become a unit, schools become train centers, people become soldiers. So you become yourself or you become just another face in the crowd because only you have to look at yourself in the mirror every morning.

Definitely a don't judge a book by it's cover type. I'm usually pretty quiet and shy when first meeting/talking to people, but once you get to know me I'm loud and more outgoing.

People perceive me as kind and a straight arrow, which isn't far off. I do think they would be shocked at my sexual proclivities. I am highly energetic and highly sexual but I have that anchorman trusting look.

I would say I judge people on their actions, I don't care about how you look (although if the situation requires you to look a certain way I.e. formal event of some kind and you have decided to negate that requirement then your action will be judged).

 

Depending where I am at that moment I can be a different person.
I the summer I work in a tourist gift shop and I am a nice, laughing and charming lady.
At bars and night clubs my naughty side comes out and my hidden person is revealed.
If I get pissed off about something really bad happening you DO NOT want to see that side of me.
(Just be safe and be nice in the gift shop, we hate replacing the big store window)

 

I think everyone is subject to first impression type casting. Over time more clues as to who we really are beneath the surface are revealed.

I look nerdy but I'm really a sensitive and compassionate humanoid. I'm sexually over-driven but can be as surpressed as needs be. You don't get to know me by just looking.
